چکیده

Temperature programmed desorption TPD has been used to investigate the behavior of cyclohexane C6H12 on Zr 0001 and the effects of 500 eV electron bombardment on its desorption characteristics. Following adsorption at 150 K, molecular desorption above 600 K suggests exceptionally strong interaction between C6H12 and Zr 0001 . These high-temperature desorption features shift to higher temperatures with increasing exposure. Electron bombardment alters TPD profiles and results in small quantities of H2 desorption from C6H12/Zr 0001 at about 310 K. © 2005 American Vacuum Society. DOI: 10.1116/1.1864054

Nickel Hydrogenation Composite Catalysts Modified by Zirconium in Competitive Benzene Hydrogenation: Effect of Modifiers

A co-impregnation method was applied to the Ni/Zr-HMS/HZSM-5 catalyst (with various amounts of zirconium) during the hydrogenation of benzene. The physicochemical properties of the prepared nickel catalyst were characterized using X - ray diffraction, X - ray fluorescence, Fourier transform infrared spectroscopy, ultraviolet-visible diffuse reflectance spectroscopy, temperature-programmed desor...

Normal Heptane Reforming of Promoted Platinum Composite Catalysts: Preparation, Characterization and Catalytic Performance

Pt/Zr(x)-HMS/HZSM-5 catalysts with different ratios of Silicium/Zirconium (denoted as x) were studied for normal heptane reforming at 350-450 °C temperature range. For this purpose, the properties of the catalysts such as X-ray diffraction, X-ray fluorescence, Fourier-transform infrared spectroscopy, Ultraviolet–visible diffuse reflectance spectroscopy, NH3-temperature pro...

Growth of an Ultrathin Zirconia Film on Pt3Zr Examined by High-Resolution X-ray Photoelectron Spectroscopy, Temperature-Programmed Desorption, Scanning Tunneling Microscopy, and Density Functional Theory

Ultrathin (∼3 Å) zirconium oxide films were grown on a single-crystalline Pt3Zr(0001) substrate by oxidation in 1 × 10-7 mbar of O2 at 673 K, followed by annealing at temperatures up to 1023 K. The ZrO2 films are intended to serve as model supports for reforming catalysts and fuel cell anodes. The atomic and electronic structure and composition of the ZrO2 films were determined by synchrotron-b...

Dynamics of D2 released from the dissociation of D2O on a zirconium surface.

Hydrogen is efficiently released during water dissociation on zirconium (Zr), while even very rapid temperature programmed heating of a hydrogen covered Zr surface predominantly leads to dissolution (approximately 99% dissolution). To help resolve these apparently contradictory observations, we have studied the dynamics of water (D2O) dissociation on a crystalline Zr surface by probing the rota...

TPD study of the reaction of CH3CH2SH and (CH3CH2)2S2 on ZnO(0001) and ZnO

Temperature programmed desorption (TPD) was used to study the reaction of CH3CH2SH and (CH3CH2)2S2 on the (0001) and surface of ZnO. The interaction of these molecules with ZnO was found to be structure-sensitive. Both the thiol and disulfide adsorbed dissociatively on ZnO(0001) forming adsorbed ethylthiolate intermediates, while only molecularly on ZnO. This result indicates that exposed catio...
